Trekking - Easy

This one day of trekking take us into the Namha National Protected Area across the 900 m high ridge of Luangnamtha . The beauty of the Mountains view point of the jungle.

–  We depart from the office and transfer 5 km with speaking guide to where the trek starts for take local guide from village. We begin with climbing the jungle mountain which we will take some time to explore; it contains some of the most impressive biology

–  Loop trail with a focus on the culture of the Lanten people

–  Walk for 2 hours through thick jungle with Lanten guide, who will explain  

their culture and customs

–  Arrive on the mountaintop with amazing views of the Nam Ha conservation area which place we will picnic lunch

–  Trek another 1.5 hours through primary jungle to Namdee waterfall (where you can swim)

–  Spend time in the Lanten village where everyone wears traditional clothing, with a possibility to see the people making handicrafts and bamboo paper

–  Visit Sida and Khmu villages on the way back to town

–  Around 4:00 PM Tuk-Tuk will take you back to city.

 

Trekking - Moderate

The Nam Ha National Protected Area, It’s an ASEAN Heritage Site, trekking tour is the best of Luangnamtha,Laos. Spend a day with experience the taste of unknown food collected from the forest, and enjoy the tranquility of the jungle

–  You will have Walking through the Nam Ha National Protected Area forest around 5-6 hour

–  Walk for 2-3 hours through primary forest with Khmu tribe guide who will explain Khmu culture and customs, and find some edible plants for tasty

–  Arrive on mountaintop with amazing views of the Nam Ha conservation area

–  Stop and sit in the forest for traditional Khmu lunch

–  Trek another 3-4 hours through primary forest along the Namha valley

–  Walk by jungle streams, and if you’re lucky see wildlife as: monkey, many different kinds of bird

–  Around 4:00 PM Tuk-Tuk will take you to the city

Kayaking

Paddling is a one Optional to Recommended on rainy season, The Nam Ha or Namtha river is most of the year the verdant forested banks, colorful of birds if we lucky will see some monkeys eat and drink water close river bank, On rainy season You will be paddling exciting to grade rapids.

–  Adventure & challenge kayak on Nam Tha River

– Explore colorful ethnic minorities along the river such as: Black Tai, Mien Hmong (Lanten) & Mon-Khmer (Khmu)along the river bank

–  Wild life can be seen while paddling after 2 km of paddle on your right hand side is Nam Ha NPA with many exciting rapids

–  Lao picnic on the river bank for lunch with traditional food

–  You can Swim in the river after lunch for Diving see fish

–  Learn about the Tai Dam tribe Style, who originate from the Vietnamese border. You’ll often see them making silk threads, weaving, making bamboo baskets, tray containing worms and the bright yellow cocoons underneath some of the houses

–  Learn about the Lanten tribe who still wear their traditional dress. Lanten rituals often use wooden masks and handmade bamboo-fiber paper

–  Learn about one of the largest ethnic groups, the Khmu. The Khmu practice their own form of animism, particularly around rice harvest

–  Around 4:00 PM you have to finish and then Tuk-Tuk will take you back to city

Trek & Kayak

Who don’t have more time but want to do a great activities at Luangnamtha province, Ethnic Travel Laos Company have more different detail for you, Haft day trek + Haft day kayak is a trip recommended.

–  Half day kayaking and half day trekking

–  This kayaking trip from Soptud village(which tribe you have to learn and buy some souvenir with them, offers you amazing landscapes of riverbanks and the beautiful Nam Tha River

–  After 3 hours on the Nam Tha river with whitewater rapids you will arrive at Gan-gnua jumping resort and stop for lunch and enjoy the cable line jumping on Nam Tha river or refreshing swim

–  After lunch you will cross Namtha River by bamboo rafting to the right site of Nam tha River and start trekking by climbing through varieties of trees in primary forest

Later this afternoon we will head deeper in to the Nam Ha national protected area, where your local guide will share his personal experiences with you and teach you all about the poisonous and edible plants, local herbal medicines such as wild cardamoms, galanga, rattan, bamboo shoots.

Cycling

Cycling through a beautiful landscape and visit several ethnic villages (Hmong, Lantan, Khmu, Labed, Phounoi, Taidam and Akha) to learn more about handicraft manufacturing in the province and enjoy the hospitality and food of the local people.

–  An alternative and easy way to explore the beautiful scenery of the town of Lung Namtha.

–  Scenic views of the river bank, waterfall and visit minority villages (Hmong, Lantan, Khmu, Labed, Phounoi, Taidam and Akha ) along the dirt road.

–  Visit Luang Namtha traditional museum to see local products (except weekends).

–  Learn about traditional bamboo paper making (in winter), dying fabrics with plants as natural dyes, weaving

– See how local Lao Lao whisky is made and sample some, and see the first ever Lanten museum and library.

–  Be enchanted by the extensive rice paddy vistas, and see two different temples.

4 Wheels

Journey through the scenic jungle road to Muang Sing, and At 08:30 AM private tuk-tuk or minivan will pick you up at office

–  On the way you will see mountains and enjoy beautiful scenery filled with streams, forests and minority villages (Hmong, Lantan, Khmu, Akha, Tailue and Taidam ethnic group.

–  You will also have positive impact with children by allowing them to interact with foreigners and speak with native speaker

–  Around noon we will stop for lunch at the Pha Nguang waterfall. Accessible via the Kiew lom mountain pass.

–  After that we will quickly descend into the Muang Sing valley with views of the mountains and rice paddy fields.

–  Before we arrive in Muang sing we will climb up to the Xieng Tueng stupa which is one of the most important Bhuddist stupa’s in the Muang sing district. Where if the times allows it we can enjoy a short coffee break at the stupa mountain lodge with views of the Muang sing valley.

–  continue to the Muang Sing town to visit the Museum and local market before returning to Luang Namtha private minivan will pick you up
